Meet Lou

Lou is a Essendon personal trainer. Lou has been involved in football and cricket - both at high levels. He has played for the under 18's Carlton Football Club and also the West Coburg Football Club earning a number of best and fairest awards. Lou was fortunate enough to represent his state in Junior cricket. He graduated from the Australian College of Health and Fitness in Brisbane. He has had over 35 years of sporting experience and is loves to share his knowledge as a personal trainer. OH YEAH!

Training Style & Influences

I like to think my training style is challenging, but fun and enjoyable. Having a background in football and cricket has helped me in my training and training others in their specialised area. I use a lot of strength and conditioning training and also endurance-based exercises.

    Strength Training - An example client of mine started at 60kg and 185cm with a goal to bulk up and obtain endurance in 3 months for the football season. I tailored a resistance training model to target muscle gain and strength development in the first 6-8 weeks then added endurance exercises in the latter part of the program. After 3 months he was 66kg and well prepared.

    Rehabilitation - I have also aided clients with specific health needs and adjusted programs for them. e.g back and knee programs, high blood pressure.

Why I Became a Personal Trainer

I became a trainer because of the passion I have for sports. I love the fact that I am doing something I love. Helping people of all walks of life, young, elderly, disabled, athletes and more. Helping them setting goals and achieving them makes me love what I do. It's a great bonus that at the same time you get fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
