The premier aquatics and fitness facility in the northern suburbs, the Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre is your one stop shop for fitness and sports. Aquatics are complete with 5 Thomastown swimming pools, relaxation areas including spa, sauna and steam room and a kiddies pools and outdoor splash park for the family. No more long drives to the beach. Our facilities also include a multi-purpose stadium for basketball, netball, badminton, futsal, volleyball and more!

Swimming Pool

TRAC has a range of Thomastown swimming pools to suit everyone's needs. Pace out your laps in the 25 metre indoor Thomastown swimming pool, exercise in the large hydrotherapy pool, relax in the spa or enjoy playing with the kids in the kiddies pool. All pools can be easily accessed by either a ramp or hoist. When you want to unwind why not take some time out in either the steam room or sauna.

Basketball Court

TRAC’s sports multi-purpose stadium can be used as a hang out zone and is very popular with teenagers looking for a place to play some casual sport. The multi-purpose court includes a full court basketball court to shoot hoops, play futsal, badminton or even volleyball.

You can either share the space with other casual users or enquire about booking it exclusively. The hire of the sports equipment is included in the entry price. Members of TRAC can use this space for fitness training as part of their membership and often programs, such as Boot Camp, are held in the stadium.

Futsal Court

The sports stadium is comfortable all year round with evaporative cooling, big arse fans (truly that is their name!), dedicated male and female changing rooms and a beautiful polished floor. Join in on our Futsal competitions.

Hydrotherapy Pool

The Thomastown hydrotherapy pool is heated to 34 degrees and is the biggest in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. TRAC's hydrotherapy pool is the perfect place to carry out your private rehabilitation program and soak away any sore spots.

Splash Park

The water splash park has shooting cannons, water falls and a giant tipping bucket that will have the kids (and big kids at heart) squealing in delight. Included is a spacious outdoor setting ideal for a BBQ on a hot day with seating under a shaded area.

Swim School

Thomastown swim school lessons start for babies from the age of 6 months right through to private adult classes. For children, lessons are 30 minutes long and we offer a range of times in the mornings, after school and in the weekends. For adults, private lessons are taught one on one and run for 45 minutes.

Thomastown swim school lessons are taught in either the warm water pool, kiddies pool or 25 metre pool and all pools are heated for your child's comfort. Even the pool hall and changing rooms are a consistent 27 degrees. The focus of the lessons is about developing swim and survive skills but the TRAC difference is that kids have fun! Students’ achievements are rewarded with certificates to provide a lasting record of their progress.
