I like to incorporate a fun yet hard working session through plenty of plyometrics and exercises which continually keep the heart rate up. I like to train old school and also put in place military and boot camp exercises, as well as introducing new and different styles. Through my sports background, I am able to know when clients have reached their limits, and when they can push that extra little bit. Depending what each individual client is after, I look at their diet and everyday lifestyles, and give them different ideas to incorporate into their fitness routines. Although my training sessions are hard, I still look at my clients' injuries and fitness background, so am able to tailor programmes to each person. Clients work hard in a safe and friendly environment, and leave each session with a sense of satisfaction and achievement.

After a goal analysis, I use a combination of boxing, weights training, cardio and assisted stretching in my sessions. I also utilise circuit training, mainly using cardio including skipping and running combined with bodyweight exercises.
For those of my clients that are sport-specific such as in netball, I adapt to their needs - for example, I use plyometric exercises such as jump squats and balancing exercises such as dura disc work.

Training Style & Influences
I incorporate a lot of boxing to increase cardio fitness. I use split programs to span the work over several days. I like to mix up each week to give different exercises and I also include take home exercise to help maintain fitness. For ladies I use a lot of abs, leg and postural work.

Michael is a Doncaster East personal trainer. Since Michael was able to stand, walk and then run, he has always been on the go. Throughout school, Michael has competed in a variety of sports including basketball, football, athletics and cross country running. Michael's basketball career spanned 10 years, which included playing in the Victorian State Championships.

With an active sporting childhood, Michael found the need to find a job which was also active and being a personal trainer allowed to pass on his knowledge and have an active career at the same time.

Soon after completing his qualifications at Box Hill Tafe in 2004, Michael hasn't looked back since. He soon added cycle excel, All-star boxing, sports nutrition and innovative swiss ball training qualifications to his resume. Through my sporting and training life I have always given 100% and because of that I strive to help my clients reach their full potential. Every client is different and so 100% isn't the same for everyone. Meet Joye!
Joye is a Doncaster East personal trainer. Joye has enjoyed a life filled with sports. During her college years she was a member of both the netball and athletic teams, participating in track and field events as well as cross country. One of her athletic highlights was being a member of her college relay team where they ran against New Zealand Olympic and Commonwealth Gold Medallists Murray Halberg and Peter Snell.

Along with her athletic endeavours, Horse Riding has always been a part of her life being a member of the local Pony Club riding at shows and with the Hunt Club. She has also enjoyed playing in basketball and tennis competitions as well as snow skiing for recreation.

When Joye was over 50 and over weight, she joined the Equilibrium Health and Fitness club where she became enthusiastic about getting fit. A staff member suggested she should come and work there and the seed was sown.

I adapt my training style to suit the client's goals and aspirations and design varied programs to encourage the client to achieve those goals thereby maintaining their interest and motivation. I believe I have an empathic understanding of clients' varying moods and levels of motivation and adjust my program delivery accordingly.
