Meet Kristy

Kristy is a Woonona personal trainer. Kristy has always been involved in fitness first playing sports such as netball, touch football and cross country running. She has maintained this lifestyle from her early child hood to her present making exercise a part of her everyday life.

Having travelled extensively, living in both England and Canada, Kristy found her passion for meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. After her travels overseas she decided to study Psychology at the University of Wollongong but at the completion of her degree she wasn't sure whether she wanted to pursue a career in psychology. So she decided to incorporate her passion for fitness and passion for helping people into a personal training career.

Kristy believes that exercise, the right nutrition and a person's mental state will help them rise to levels of health and fitness that you originally thought was impossible. As a mother she considers herself to be a caring, patient and encouraging person which is something she uses throughout her personal training sessions to help people reach their fitness goals.  

Training Style & Influences

My extensive participation in sports throughout my life shapes the way I train my clients. I like high energy sessions which incorporate resistance training and cardio. I like training indoors and outdoors using a wide variety of equipment and own body weight exercises to create enjoyment and prevent boredom. I strive to have good relationships with my clients as I really believe that having a good friendship and an enjoyable environment helps people feel better about themselves and in-turn helps them stick to a program and achieve their goals.

    Weight loss - I provide clients with specific training programs tailored to their current needs. I like to incorporate high intensity interval training to keep their heart rates up, alongside resistance training using big muscles and boxing.

    Pre and post Natal - I like to keep the training to their capabilities. Being a mum myself helps me to understand the need for core strength and stability which I incorporate into my sessions using fitballs and resistance training.

    One of my previous clients has lost more than 40kg through effective high intensity sessions and both indoor and outdoor boxing circuits.

Why I Became a Personal Trainer

I became a personal trainer as I genuinely love exercise, training and helping people achieve their goals. I have always loved being involved with sports and fitness so it was a natural transition for me to incorporate my love of fitness and helping people.

Being a personal trainer helps me to work in an environment that I love, but also building strong friendships with the people in which I train.
