Meet Megan

Megan is a St Kilda personal trainer. From the age of 19, Megan fell in love with all things health and fitness. Although she had grown up playing competition level sports, it wasn't until she started training in gyms that she began to look and feel different about the industry. After 2 years of training she headed back to Canberra for her 21st birthday and some of her family didn't even recognize her from the amazing transformation her healthy and fit life gave her.

She soon embarked on a career in fitness as a personal trainer and with her experience, she soon became an instant success. For over more than 3 years she has enjoyed helping many clients achieve their weight loss goals, change their physiques and rehabilitate clients from injuries. She has also had the pleasure of working on her own physique and fitness goals. Running has also become a passion of hers and in October 2011 she ran her first marathon in under 4 hours. Megan loves nothing more than helping people change their lives through adopting a healthy lifestyle and changing their body shapes. She feels blessed to have such an amazing and rewarding job!

Training Style & Influences

I grew up playing a range of sports both indoors and out. Later in life I become very involved in resistance training and managed to completely change my posture and shape my body. I also love running and frequently participate in competition races. I am Punchfit qualified and also like to do a lot of boxing in my downtime. When working with clients I integrate all of these modes of training to develop my clients to their full potential. A range of training style also ensures a more enjoyable session and continued enthusiasm for exercise.

    I work with a very broad clientele so it's not easy to say I specialise in one area. Most of my training is aimed at fat loss and muscle gain, however I often have clients come to me specially for postural correction and injury management. I have taken several rehabilitation and functional training courses that have given me the skills to identify and correct imbalances in the body.

Why I Became a Personal Trainer

I can't see myself doing anything else other than personal training. I have come to understand that bodies are made to move, as soon as one is active, every other facet of their life will improve. After transforming myself, it gives me no greater pleasure than to pass on the same experience to another. Most days it's hard to believe I get paid to do it!
