Meet Shannon

Shannon is a Gungahlin personal trainer. Throughout my life I have participated in countless numbers of different sports. Horse Riding, Skiing, Snow Boarding, Surfing, Sailing, Swimming, Football, OZ Tag, Badminton, Netball and Basketball. Whilst some have stuck and others not so much… it is safe to say I love physical activity. During the year 11 and 12 there was a lot of talk about different Universities and carious degrees, I had no idea what I was going to do so I got to thinking about what I was passionate about; Fitness and helping people. Once I completed my year 12 at Canberra Girls Grammar I began my Cert III and IV in Fitness at the Australian Institute of Fitness. The more I learn about Personal Training the more confident I become in my choice to do what I am passionate about.

Throughout my life experiences in various sports and PT sessions from different trainers I have formed a list of elements that a Personal Training session must be; enjoyable, effective, within client capabilities, set with clients goals in mind and specific to the clients needs and wants.

    Contest prep – I train people for equestrian competitions. The main aim is to help them ride better.

    Sessions that include core, posture improving exercises, cardio, balance and bilateral exercises (to have both sides of the body working equally). All this helps clients to maintain a healthy bodyweight which is extremely important in equestrian sports.  

Why I Became a Personal Trainer

I have always enjoyed fitness throughout my life. What it has done for me, who I am both physically, mentally and importantly the places it has taken my. I want to help others realise their potential through fitness.
