Meet Matt

Matt is a North Melbourne personal trainer. Having grown up playing sports, Matt has always had an interest in fitness. From the age of 6, Matt enjoyed a basketball career spanning 14 years. At one stage Matt was playing at different stadiums 6 days a week as well as playing representative basketball for Coburg. His extensive background in basketball helped him coach junior players with great success.

Along with basketball, Matt played AFL football for Laylor, being part of the 2003 premiership team. Once he finished up playing, he took up a job as runner for both the senior and reserve teams also taking on an assistant position role for the women's team.

Outside of being actively involved in local sport clubs, Matt studied at the Australian Institute of Fitness and when he became a qualified personal trainer, he quickly added to his knowledge with 2 cycling courses with Donna Ellerton and an All-star boxing course with Glen Walsh. Matt can now be found personal training around Melbourne, and brings over 25 years of experience to his valued clients.  

Training Style & Influences

When it comes to training, I tend to train people the way I like to train myself. Avoid long winded, complicated exercises and instead train hard with simple but very effective movements. I combine variation with education. I have found this to be the most effective way to train both myself and my clients.
