Meet Marcel

Marcel was active in cross-country and competed during his school years. He then studied engineering, spending too much time in the gym and not enough in class. It is around this time that he realised his passion for fitness and this led him to become a fitness instructor/personal trainer in the mid 90s. He decided to have a break and left his full-time fitness career for a few years, during which time he worked 5 jobs (working at 2 gyms, teaching kids sport, warehouse and security). Whilst at his job as a forklift driver in a warehouse he always thought about the gym. But now that he is back in the gym, he never thinks about the warehouse!

Training Style & Influences

Marcel uses integrated brain techniques, making clients do 2 things at once - for example core stability + strength training work at the same time. His sessions are  also more dynamic, utilising full body training techniques learned from Paul Chek & Jim Jones (300 movie - trainer crew).

  • Certificate III in Fitness - Gym Instructor
  • Certificate IV in Fitness - Personal Trainer
  • Level 2 First Aid
  • #1 Personal Trainer (Genesis Fitness Clubs) 2005-2006
  • Personal Training Manager - Team of 13 trainers
