Meet Kerry

Kerry was very active in her early years, playing netball for more than 17 years during school and in local community teams. She also played tennis at the age of 15 and still continues to play socially today. She tried many different sports, including swimming and Karate and achieved a level of Orange belt. She always did 2 things to keep active. She always walked everywhere, and always retained a gym membership somewhere.

Kerry's career included working as an aged-care worker, so she has a deep passion for getting older adults stronger. Her journey to becoming a personal trainer began when she was taking some classes with an instructor friend. She saw great qualities in Kerry and told her to pursue a career in personal training. She followed her friend around for a few weeks and went to school at the age of 50 to become a qualified personal trainer. This was the best thing that happened to her and she wishes she started 20 years earlier.

Training Style & Influences

In my training sessions, we always do at least 4 lower body parts, and 4 upper body parts, core work and cardio in between. We use cardio as warmups and then follow a strength routine with cardio in between which may include boxing. I use a lot of weights and body weight exercises.

  • Certificate III in Fitness - Gym Instructor
  • Certificate IV in Fitness - Personal Trainer
  • Level 2 First Aid

    Boxing Training - Always incorporate 15 minutes of boxing in all my session from pad work.

    Fitball Training - Run fitball classes regularly, focus on a lot of core training, butt, legs, thighs and tummy.
